Telemedicine

Dr. Andreassen offers a telemedicine option for his patients at the Family Medical Center.

Telemedicine is a healthcare option that has become more popular after the Covid-19 outbreak.  This form of medical care is driven by modern technology and allows patients to receive medical advice and care without having to see the doctor face-to-face.

An “office visit” is accomplished by establishing a real-time video and audio chat with Dr. Andreassen from your smartphone or computer.  Telemedicine provides more accessible healthcare for patients who have difficulty going to the office.  Simple consultations can take place from the comfort of a patient’s home.

Telemedicine is also used when doctor input is needed from one medical facility to another, allowing the consulting doctor to access medical data and readings needed for an opinion.  Patients with chronic conditions can be monitored remotely with mobile medical devices.

All telemedicine is regulated by HIPAA guidelines for security and privacy.  Most insurance companies allow coverage for telemedicine visits.  For detailed benefit coverage, contact your insurance company.
